Nandi Hills or Nandidurg is a hill station, situated 1,478 mt. above sea level and 65 km from Bangalore, in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. It gets its name from the ancient Nandi or bull which is meant to be the mount of Lord Shiva. Later developed as Tipu Sultan’s summer retreat this hill-station was patronized by the British too. These hills are the source of the rivers Palar, Arkavati and Pennar and rolling green slopes surround the Amrit Sarovar Lake, making it a popular weekend destination.

Gumbaz is the tomb and mosque built by Tipu Sultan as a tribute to his illustrious father, Hyder Ali (1722-1784 A.D.), after his death. Gumbaz is the burial chamber of Tipu Sultan, his father Haider Ali and mother Fatima Begum. It is built on a lifted platform and is circumvented by various other tombs of his relatives and nobles.

The Daria Daulat Bagh (Summer Palace) of Tipu Sultan was originally constructed by Tipu Sultan's father Hyder Ali. But he only commenced the construction and late on Tipu Sultan completed it. It is a summer palace and the money that was utilized in its construction was gained entirely from sea trade. It is located on the southern bank of the river Kaveri and it has been constructed in the Saracenic mode of architecture.

Skandagiri, also known as Kalavara Durga, is an ancient mountain fortress[1] located approximately 50km from Bangalore city, and 3km from Chikballapur in the Indian state of Karnataka.

It is off Bellary Road (NH-7 Hyderabad-Bangalore Highway), and overlooks Nandi Hills, Muddenahalli, and Kanivenarayanapura . The peak is at an altitude of about 1350 meters. It is known as the "adventurer's paradise" and features a beautiful night trek, altitude camping, stunning sunrise, and serene and ocean like clouds. Skandagiri is near to Nandi Hills though it is not so famous as the later.

Bandipur National Park is a beautiful forest reserve located in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. This national park occupies a special place in India's efforts towards natural conservation. It was created in the 1930s from the local Maharaja Voodiyar's hunting lands, and named Venugopal Wildlife Park. Apart from being home to the Asiatic elephant, Bandipur also has a sizable number of tigers.

Nehru Zoological Park is the largest zoo in the city, located near Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 1963 and named after the first prime minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru. It is spread over an area of 300 acres (approx. 1.2 km²) and has a wide selection of animals - nearly 1,500 species of birds, animals and reptiles are housed here. The zoo runs different safari trips every day, such as Lion Safari, Tiger Safari, Bear Safari, and Butterfly Safari. Other attractions include elephant rides, a natural history museum, and a children's train.

Ameen Peer Dargah (Asthana-e-Magdoom Ilahi Dargah complex)(Badi Dargah, Pedda Dargah) in Kadapa (Cuddapah) is an example of the communal harmony preached by great saints and sages in ancient days. Come Thursday and Friday, scores of pilgrims cutting across religious faiths, throng the 300-year-old shrine seeking blessings of saints Peerullah Hussaini and Arifullah Hussaini II who lie buried here. Followers of the dargah believe that any wish that one makes at the shrine is always fulfilled. A large number of Hindus, Muslims and people of different faiths are disciples of the shrine.

Hyder Ali commissioned the building of this garden in 1760 but his son, Tipu Sultan, completed it. Lal Bagh is a 240 acre (971,000 sq.m. - almost 1 km.) garden and is located on the southern part of Bangalore. It holds a number of flower shows, especially on the Republic Day (26th January). The garden has over 1,000 species of flora. The Glass House, modeled on London's Crystal Palace (now re-modelled with a different layout), is the center of attraction.

The Annual Flower Show at Lal Bagh is always a delight for flower enthusiasts. On 6 th August the grand flower show was opened at Lalbagh as part of the Independence Day celebrations. A replica of the India Gate monument with 250,000 roses is the star attraction at the annual Independence Day flower show.

Flower shows are held at the Lal Bagh every year in August and January, coinciding with both Independence and Republic Day. The Karnataka State Horticulture and Mysore Horticultural Society, which is jointly organising the ten-day flower show.
